No previous experience necessary - moderate level of fitness.
The Richtersveld is a unique Desert Reserve with signs of old volcanic mountains, the trails of the Khoisan people and the aridness of an unforgiving desert reserve that lives off the mighty 2092 km long Orange River.
This is a great weekend getaway.
Your adventures begins from the Base Camp on the banks of the Orange River 22 kms down stream from the Vioolsdrift (South African) Noordoewer (Namibian) borders if you are driving yourself.
Safe Parking, hot showers, flush toilets, grassy campsites, bar facilities and safe lock-up storage.
Tour starts: 17h00: Meet your fellow paddlers, river trip briefing by experienced guides and famous bush cuisine.
Sleep at Base Camp.
After breakfast you launch the 2-man inflatable rafts (crocodiles) with cooler box, dry bags and buoyancy aids down the mighty Orange River.
After enjoying lunch on riverbank we embark on our excursion into the Richtersveld. The second leg of the tour takes us on a thrilling 4x4 trail into the Nababeep Conservancy. Explore the geological wonders and diverse collection of fauna and flora, many of whom have adapted in different and unique ways in order to survive this desert environment. We once again leave the mountains behind and slowly make our way back to camp for a wonderful bush-style dinner and sleep under a magnificent star-studded sky. Tour ends the next morning after breakfast.
PLANTS: Wild Raisin Tree, Tamarisk, Wild Tobacco, False Ebony, Shepardâs Tree, Camel Thorn Tree, Sweet Thorn, Quiver Tree, Bastard Quiver Tree (Endemic to the Richtersveld), Halfmens.
BIRDS: African Darter, Fish Eagle, Black Eagle, Hammerkop, Goliath, Grey and Black Headed Herons, White Breasted Cormorant, Little Egret, Great White Egret, Cattle Egret, Black Stork, White Stork, Yellow billed Stork, Egyptian goose, Black smith plover; Malachite, pied, pygmy, giant - kingfishers.
REPTILES/ INSECTS: Red Roman, Scorpions, Horned Adder, Mountain Adder, Dwarf adder, Puff Adder, Cape Spitting Cobra, Water Monitor Lizard, Fog Basking Beetle.
ROCK FORMATION: Granite Rock, Metamorphic Rock and Sedimentary Rock.

Breede River Rafting 1 Night 1 Day Trail
No previous experience necessary - moderate level of fitness.
Come and explore the Breede River Valley and take a well-deserved break from the city. This unique valley is home to the Breede River, its wine farms and beautiful Hex River Mountains. Only 1½ hours from Cape Town, close to the farming communities of Worcester and Ceres, this river is the ideal weekend breakaway from Cape Town.
The Breede River originates in the Great Hex River Mountains in Ceres and meanders through farm and wine lands and eventually takes a turn past Bonnievale and Swellendam before it joins the Indian Ocean at Witsand. It hosts a wide variety of bird life such as Fish Eagles, Black Eagles, Jackal Buzzards, Herons, Cormorants and King Fishers.
Our adventure starts 9H00 at the pre-arranged meeting point (Hi Africa/ Bonamanzi) for coffee or tea from where you will leave your vehicles and be transported to the rafting starting point. After a detailed safety briefing about the dayâs rafting we launch our boats and start the adventure on the scenic Breede River.
Duration of our adventure on Breede River takes about 3-4 hours. Paddling, floating and letting the fast moving water take us through this beautiful fertile valley while the Hex River Mountains guard over us. A picnic style lunch will be served on the banks of the river where you can sample some of the local wines of the region.
After completing our rafting adventure, we prepare for overnight accommodation on the banks of the Breede River while tasting local wines. We will have a well deserved shower and a few cold drinks, before the guides serve us a delicious meal prepared on an open fire
