KRUGER PARK BIG 5 SAFARIS
The Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. Established in 1898 and becoming South Africa's first National Park in 1926. It covers an area of nearly 2 million hectacres of unrivalled life diversity with historical and archaeological sights.
In the north is Zimbabwe, and to the east is Mozambique which is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park.
The park is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere, an area designated by UNESCO as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve.
The Kruger Park is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. Man's interaction with the environment over many centuries - from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like Masorini and Thulamela. These treasures represent the cultures, persons and events that played a role in the history of the Kruger National Park and are conserved along with the park's natural assets.
The Safari.
Enjoy Big 5 sunset game drives and nocturnal animal spotting in the Kruger National Park, early morning game walks with armed Rangers. View natural wildlife from an open gameviewer hide. Real African bushveld experience. All inclusive, dinner, bed, breakfast and lunch. Accommodations situated just outside Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park making this eminently affordable and also offering a value-filled safari with a personal touch.
First Day One : We collect you from any hotel, guesthouse, lodge or private home in Johannesburg, Pretoria or from the Johannesburg International Airport. We travel via the Highveld farmlands to the picturesque subtropical Lowveld and onwards to the Game Lodge in the Balulue Section of the Kruger Park. During a short break, during which you may unwind at the bar, have a swim or relax in the tropical gardens. At around 17h00 you board the open Landcruiser for a Sunset Drive. Your qualified guide will facilitate your first exciting opportunity to experience the varied African fauna and flora. Watch the magnificent African sunset, and, after darkness falls, use spotlights to locate nocturnal animals. Dinner in the Boma will be a traditional South African meal. Overnight in comfortable, air-conditioned en suite thatch-roofed chalets.
Day Two : Awaken at sunrise for a coffee and rusks before an exhilarating day of bush experience. Drive to the mighty Olifants River, where you enjoy a four hour â walk in the wild â. Your experienced field guide will lead you through the bush at a pace you can handle in search of the Big Five. The thrill of following Africaâs large animals in a quest to approach close enough to take a good photo will remain with you forever. Adrenalin surges will be acute, notwithstanding the fact that your ranger is adequately armed in case of potential danger.
Return to the Game Lodge for brunch.
Treehouse Lodge: At 14h30 we go on an afternoon game drive. Transfer to the Treehouse Lodge where accommodation is in fascinating and romantic treehouses.

The Game Lodge: After lunch you may take a swim or a sleep in your airconditioned chalet. The new Lapa has extensive wildlife books and magazines. For the very keen, we offer a game-viewing Hide (with ablutions) overlooking Tremisana Dam, where animals and birds often come to drink.
Day Three : (See Last Day for 3 day Safari)
Drive to the Orpen Gate of the Kruger Park, where we transfer to a custom-built open-sided Gameviewer. The open vehicle allows for a total wildlife opportunity - you will not only have an amazing opportunity to view game, but also to listen to and smell the African bush and its denizens. The absence of windows and your elevated vantage position allow for excellent photographic opportunities. Your experienced guide will show you many animals and birds that frequent this wildlife paradise. We have regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places of interest. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions have open plains and support large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope that attract numerous predators. In fact, this zone has the highest concentration of lions in Africa !
Day Four : (See Last Day for 4 day Safari)
Early morning Game Drive precedes a Champagne Bush Breakfast. Your guide will set up picnic tables and chairs at any spot you choose along the Olifants River. Enjoy an unforgettable breakfast al fresco in the middle of the African bush ! After breakfast, continue with the Game Drive and return to the accommodation in the late morning. After High Tea, we drive to Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre. Here you will learn about the sterling work being done in rehabilitating injured and orphaned animals. You will get close and personal to some of the residents, including lions and leopards. Your understanding of Conservation will be greatly improved.
Day Five: (See Last Day for 5 day Safari) :
Enjoy another exciting day on the open vehicle watching game in Kruger Park. Your ranger will attempt to show you any animal you have not yet seen.
Last Day - Day Six : Enjoy an early morning Sunrise Drive on Balule on the open Landcruiser. After a hearty breakfast we drive to the awesome Blyde River Canyon and view the Three Rondawels. We return to Gauteng in the late afternoon.

Guests at the Treehouse Lodge are adventurous and young at heart. They are prepared to forfeit certain luxuries in the pursuit of a real African bush experience. They certainly are not afraid of frogs and spiders. The Treehouse Lodge is unique and caters for tourists of very differing financial means.
Guests at the Game Lodge are generally more mature and are accustomed to simple luxuries. Of course they are still in the bush and may also encounter frogs and spiders, but these are unlikely to be in the chalets. Guests at the Game Lodge appreciate the compactness of the camp as well as the easy accessibility of all features and amenities.
The Game Lodge is electrically fenced as elephant are common. On the other hand, the animals at the Treehouse Lodge are free to move throughout the camp. Nyala and buffalo are often seen grazing below the treehouses and outside the chalets.
