Ricky Botsis
Rickyâs passion for Swing music was evident from a young age, so when he was recently compared to the likes of a young Frank Sinatra it was certainly a feather in this talented performerâs cap!
Rickyâs singing career started as a member of the Kearsney College Boys Choir from 1998 to 2002. In the 2000 Choir Olympics in Lynz, Austria the choir earned a 98% achievement in the folklore section and brought home two gold medals and one silver.
In 2004 he made the move from Durban to Cape Town to pursue his studies at AFDA (African Film and Drama Arts) College. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006. During his studies he joined Stardust restaurant in Rondebosch and soon found his feet as a singer and MC, entertaining up to 150 people a night alongside performers like Graeme Watkins (The Graeme Watkins Project and Idols fame) and Nomfusi Gotyana (Nomfusi and The Lucky Charms). After developing his talent at Stardust he joined the professional world of entertainment, performing at various events and venues nationwide. MORE...
