The Pilanesberg National Park is north-west of Johannesburg.
The fourth largest Game Park in South Africa, Pilanesberg's topography includes: syenite koppies, bush veld, rolling grasslands, forested ravines and lightly wooded areas all in the crater of an extinct volcano that covers 55,000 hectares.
These malaria-free different eco systems promote a great diversity of species with an excess of 7000 animals including the Big 5; Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo and over 300 bird species.
Pilanesberg is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world. Its rare rock types and structure make it a unique geological feature.
